1- BTDC - Before top dead center
2- D- Drive N- neutral
4 - When making adjustments, air conditioner
must be turned off (if equipped).
Also, hose must be disconnected at vacuum
release cylinder.
The hot idle compensator must be closed;
this can be done by
pressing finger or eraser end of pencil
on compensator.
On 1968 units, compensator pin is just in
front primary throttle bores;
On 1967 compensator is located in air horn
vent stack just to left rear
of secondary metering rod hanger;
On 1966 units brass valve located in
secondary side of unit.
On 1966 models, to set stator blades for
proper performance, remove pink wire
from contact fitting on transmission
downshift switch and connect to
white wire fitting with
alligator clip; this will activate stator switch. |
5 - Turn adjusting screw in Clockwise until
engine misfires, then turn screw out 1/2 turn
6 - If equipped, adjust idle speed
with air conditioner turned on.
Also, the vacuum released parking
brake hose from switch to engine
must be disconnected and opening
taped closed to prevent any air leak |
