Cam Lift:

The cam is measured with an outside micrometer. To find the cam lift, measure across the longest diameter of the lobe, then across the heel diameter (shortest diameter). Subtract the heel diameter from the longer measurement. That will give you the lift of the cam.
For the Pontiac 350 cu. in. engine you would multiply that by 1.5 to find the actual valve lift. Example: If you had a valve lift of .376. .376/1.5= .2506 cam lift.
